THE MENACE OF WAR

Historynet

Fertile lands are deserted,
For fear of the unknown.
Innocent lives are wasted,
By one who is well known.

The villages are in shatters,
As hopes are long buried;
And men and animals; all scattered,
In lands, both near and far.

This is the outcome of war.
The result of human callousness,
In their quest to covet it all.
The shame of greediness!

The serenity that once governed our existence,
Has become a talk in the past,
As our only joy of the present,
Is the joy hidden in our memories.
